The Frewsburg Bears are on the road again on Friday and play against the Pembroke Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on November 10th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Frewsburg had no problem doing just that two weeks ago. They skirted past Allegany-Limestone 50-48.
Meanwhile, Pembroke put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 70-30 win over Bolivar-Richburg at home. Fans of Pembroke have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Tyson Totten was his usual excellent self, rushing for 393 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Totten is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Caleb Felski also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Frewsburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Pembroke, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Frewsburg was taken down by Pembroke 49-16 in their previous meeting back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pembroke's Totten, who rushed for 166 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Now that Frewsburg knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
