The Orrville Red Riders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Triway Titans at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Orrville was the victim of a tough 35-13 defeat at the hands of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Orrville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is ranked 182nd).
Triway fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 31-26 victory over Northwest on Friday.
Triway found their leader in underclassman Brayden Holt, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns. Holt is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cale Drown, who picked up 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Triway's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Luke Belcher and his two sacks.
With Orrville's loss and Triway's win, both teams now sport identical 4-5 records.
Orrville beat Triway 23-15 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Does Orrville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Triway turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
