Fleming Island is a perfect 3-0 against Beachside since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will host the Beachside Barracudas at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Last Friday, everything went Fleming Island's way against Palatka as Fleming Island made off with a 14-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.
Mallory Blackwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Sikes, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolee Rich, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Fleming Island always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palatka only posted an OBP of .160.
Meanwhile, Beachside put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Interlachen with a sharp 12-1 win. Fans of the Barracudas have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Kyleigh Kendall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Kendall was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Beachside got a massive performance out of Izzy Muszynski, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Lily Jurgens was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Fleming Island's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Beachside, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Everything went Fleming Island's way against Beachside when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Fleming Island made off with a 12-0 victory. Does Fleming Island have another victory up their sleeve, or will Beachside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
