The Starmount Rams suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by South Stokes on the road and fell 88-44. Starmount has not had much luck with South Stokes recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Starmount still got an impressive performance from Colton Allen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Allen hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jordon Dobson, who scored 11 points.
Starmount's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for South Stokes, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Starmount on the road again on Friday and play against Forbush at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Forbush is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for South Stokes, they will head out on the road to take on Alleghany at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Alleghany will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 477th, while South Stokes is ranked 27th).
