Basketball Recap: Metrolina Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Malachi Wilson and Deangelo Walker

Metrolina Christian Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Harrells Christian Academy on Saturday. The game between the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors and the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders didn't end well, with the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors falling 69-55. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Crusaders are ranked eighth).

Deangelo Walker and Malachi Wilson certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Walker went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and five steals, while Wilson went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points. That's the most steals Walker has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Reeder, who posted eight points.

Dashaun Mckoy was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds for Harrells Christian Academy. Mckoy is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Antonio Mckoy, who went 12 of 16 on his way to 25 points and six rebounds.

Metrolina Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Harrells Christian Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Metrolina Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-54 win against Walnut Grove Christian on the 16th. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they will take on New Life Christian Academy in a tournament on Thursday.
