The Bacon Academy Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 94-40 defeat at the hands of New London. Bacon Academy has not had much luck with New London recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Devan Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with five assists and five steals for New London. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amir Hall, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Bacon Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for New London, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bacon Academy will take on Lyman Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Lyman Memorial is ranked 160th, while Bacon Academy is ranked 151st). New London won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. East Hartford is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
