This season hasn't been kind to South Bend, who are still winless after their 13th contest. The matchup between South Bend and Taholah wasn't particularly close, with South Bend falling 74-57. South Bend was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Taholah apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
South Bend lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adam Mora, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mora has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Yobani Yobani, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Taholah was led to victory by Daymien Bryan and Jayden Lewis. Bryan scored 17 points, while Lewis scored 25 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least a third of Taholah's points. Anthony Charley was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
South Bend dropped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Taholah, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
South Bend will head out on the road to challenge Ocosta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Ocosta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Taholah, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Oakville at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Oakville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
