A. Vasquez looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, JJ Vazquez was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of E. Zendejas, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Moreno Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Camarillo put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let Orange Vista get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory.
Blaise Meylemans made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Camarillo is 6-3 when Meylemans allows two or fewer hits, but 7-13 otherwise. Meylemans was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other pitching news, Camarillo got a great performance from Braden Huber as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Huber also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Scorpions are 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-14 otherwise.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brayden Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Camarillo's win bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Moreno Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
