The Christ School Greenies fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Metrolina Christian Academy 43-19. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Christ School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaden Brown led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown. Mason Holtzclaw also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Metrolina Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Gaskins, who rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Gaskins was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Titherington, who rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown.
Christ School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Christ School will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte Country Day School is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they will face off against Providence Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Day presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Metrolina Christian Academy in North Carolina (Providence Day is ranked second, while Metrolina Christian Academy is ranked 145th).
