The Sonora Broncos won the last time they faced the McCamey Badgers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Sonora took down McCamey 56-38.
Sonora's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juan Castillo, who scored 17 points along with three steals. The game was Castillo's third in a row with at least ten points. Evan Arredondo was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Sonora's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-3. As for McCamey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Sonora will face off against Rocksprings at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rocksprings presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sonora in Texas (Rocksprings is ranked 256th, while Sonora is ranked 952nd). McCamey won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Miles at 11:00 a.m. on December 8th. Miles is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
