The Calvary Christian Patriots lost against the Christian Academy Saints back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Calvary Christian took a serious blow against Christian Academy, falling 44-13.
Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Owens led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Owens has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Payton Rumley, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
Calvary Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southeastern Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Southeastern Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
