Halstead is 2-8 against Hesston since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The Dragons will head out to  square off against the Swathers  at 2:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Halstead is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Sylvan-Lucas with a sharp  12-6 win. The Dragons not only won  on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 17th (when they won  14-4).
 Brock Odendahl made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits. Odendahl was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  stolen bases and three  runs. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April.

 In other batting news,  Zach Gavlak was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run. Halstead is 2-1 when  Gavlak posts three or  more  RBI, but 4-16 otherwise.  Riley Schmidt also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
 Halstead  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Meanwhile, while Hesston put up plenty of  runs on Wednesday, the same  can't be said for Minneapolis. The Swathers blew past the Lions 11-0. Considering the Swathers have won 11 matchups by more than six  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Andrew Huxman was a  major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Huxman was even better at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Blayne Wilson was a standout: he got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Levi Flaming, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Halstead's record now sits at 6-17. As for Hesston, their record is now 14-7.
