The Albany Cougars will face off against the Salesian College Preparatory Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Albany will be strutting in after a win while Salesian College Preparatory will be coming in after a loss.
Albany headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but St. Patrick-St. Vincent let them put that streak behind them. Albany never let St. Patrick-St. Vincent get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Caroline Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Tehya Hancock looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Samirah Bowie was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Lauren Jones was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Albany always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Patrick-St. Vincent only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Salesian College Preparatory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Archie Williams.
Salesian College Preparatory saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DeAmor Coleman, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Aleah Navarro also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Albany's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Salesian College Preparatory, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Salesian College Preparatory's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Albany has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. It's a different story for Salesian College Preparatory, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Albany's hitters?
