There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Welcome
The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Bishop Ryan earned the 19th spot after its strong showing last week. It kept its opponent Des Lacs-Burlington off the scoreboard entirely, winning the match 33 - 0. That 33-point margin marks the most Bishop Ryan has won by all season.
No Stoppin 'Em
The Bismarck offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It took its contest against Mandan by a conclusive 56 - 31 score. Bismarck did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. The combined 87-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Shanley and Central Cass, 5th and 9th in the power rankings, respectively. Shanley earned a pretty comfortable 40 - 22 victory over Central Cass. The win raised Shanley up one spot in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Jamestown (14th in the power rankings) and St. Mary's Central (7th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Of course, Jamestown and St. Mary's Central can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Saturday which team falters and which extends its success.
