The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Troy Christian in their matchups with Milton-Union: they've now lost four in a row.
Troy Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Lavy, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Riley Orange was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Milton-Union's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Berberich, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shannon Brumbaugh, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Troy Christian now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Milton-Union, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Troy Christian will head out on the road to take on Riverside at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Riverside is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Milton-Union will take on Miami East at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Miami East is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
