The La Jolla Country Day Torreys lost to the El Camino Wildcats back in December of 2022, but the La Jolla Country Day Torreys didn't allow the El Camino Wildcats the same satisfaction on Tuesday. La Jolla Country Day walked away with a 49-41 win over El Camino. Given La Jolla Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while El Camino is ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Ardent, who scored 13 points. Devin Mcgee was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
La Jolla Country Day pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for El Camino, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
La Jolla Country Day will be home for the holidays to greet Maranatha Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. El Camino won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mission Hills at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Mission Hills and El Camino are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
