Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Worth). They took down the Leonard Lancers 46-27 on Wednesday. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 36-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Lake Worth was led to victory by Jocilynne Sweeney and Milan Smith. Sweeney dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals, while Smith dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Smith continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracy Joseph, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Leonard still got an impressive performance from Witney Naurelus, who had 18 points. That was a full 66.7% of Leonard's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.
The win got Lake Worth back to even at 3-3. As for Leonard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
