Galesburg Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Faith Christian Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Galesburg Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Pathway Christian, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory. The win was just what Galesburg Christian needed coming off of a 65-34 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian came tearing into Thursday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Parkview Christian Academy by a score of 46-34. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Faith Christian has scored all season.
The win got Galesburg Christian back to even at 6-6. As for Faith Christian, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Galesburg Christian took a serious blow against Faith Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 71-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Faith Christian's Isaiah Schuler, who scored 36 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
