Meanwhile, Richland fell victim to Birdville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. Their rough 7-0 defeat to the Hawks might stick with them for a while. The matchup marked the first time this season in which Richland was not able to get on the board.
Grapevine pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6-2.
