Kreed Smith and Eli McCall made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Smith pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, McCall tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, Smith gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Smith scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while McCall went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, Tyler Rollins was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Bradley Queen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Swain County lost 18-1 to Smoky Mountain on Friday.
The win made it two in a row for Rosman and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Swain County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
