Monarch is 8-1 against Coral Springs since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Monarch Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Coral Springs Colts at 7:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Monarch unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 35-19 fall against St. Thomas Aquinas. While losing is never fun, Monarch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while St. Thomas Aquinas is ranked third).
Despite the defeat, Monarch had strong showings from Jabari Brady, who picked up 125 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Jack Spaeder, who threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Clayton Cannon ii also helped out as he racked up 104 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 36 points the game before, Coral Springs were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 21-6 to Boyd Anderson.
Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Coral Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Monarch against Coral Springs in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 40-0 win. Will Monarch repeat their success, or does Coral Springs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
