The Sacred Heart Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Southeast of Saline Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sacred Heart will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Tuesday, Sacred Heart earned a 47-37 victory over Berean Academy. Given Sacred Heart's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Berean Academy is ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Southeast of Saline scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Hillsboro by a score of 62-50.
Southeast of Saline got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gannon Jacobson out in front who scored 14 points along with four steals. Jacobson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Bailey, who scored 13 points.
Sacred Heart's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. Southeast of Saline's record is now 2-3.
Things could have been worse for Sacred Heart, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Southeast of Saline in their previous meeting back in January. Thankfully for Sacred Heart, Nakari Morrical-palmer (who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
