The Kearns Cougars's and the Granger Lancers's match on Friday was close at halftime, but the Kearns Cougars turned on the heat in the second half with 36 points. Kearns breezed by Granger at home to the tune of 59-29. That 30 points margin sets a new team best for Kearns this season.
Iman Finau was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Adhau Chol was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
The win (which was Kearns' third in a row) raised their record to 7-7. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.33 points. As for Granger, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kearns will face off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Taylorsville is ranked 71st, while Kearns is ranked 94th). Granger will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against West Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. West Jordan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
