Make it eight blowout wins for the Beloit Trojans this season. They breezed by Republic County on the road to the tune of 72-25 on Tuesday. Given Beloit's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Buffaloes are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beloit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinn Eilert led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eilert has scored all season. Eli Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Beloit pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Republic County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beloit's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Chapman is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Republic County, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
