It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past the Vikings 28-26. The win was nothing new for St. Vincent de Paul as they're now sitting on six straight.
St. Vincent de Paul got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Casanovas out in front who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Caturegli, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Vincent de Paul's defense and their four sacks. Palo Alto's QB won't forget Rob Rooks anytime soon given Rooks sacked him twice.
Palo Alto's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Justin Fung, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and Jason Auzenne who picked up 110 receiving yards and a touchdown.
St. Vincent de Paul pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.33 points. As for Palo Alto, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
St. Vincent de Paul does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palo Alto also has no future games currently scheduled.
