Dexter extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Melody Duran. The Dexter Demons simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Hatch Valley Bears 58-18 thanks in part to Duran, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylonie Nevarez, who posted ten points along with five boards and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Despite the loss, Hatch Valley had strong showings from Sophia Holguin, who had six points, and Larae Gonzalez, who put up six points.
Dexter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Hatch Valley, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
Dexter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-31 victory against Hot Springs on the 11th.
