The Memorial Christian Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 14th straight loss. They were beaten by Grace Academy 65-24. Memorial Christian Academy has not had much luck with Grace Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Grace Academy found their leader in underclassman Samuel Moore, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Scully, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Memorial Christian Academy dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.6 points per game. As for Grace Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memorial Christian Academy will take on Summit Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Summit Christian Academy is ranked 1730th, while Memorial Christian Academy is ranked 1741st). As for Grace Academy, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Providence Prep at 7:45 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Providence Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
