The Bismarck Indians pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 76-59 fall against Westwood Baptist Academy. Bismarck has not had much luck with Westwood Baptist Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Bismarck lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sven Wilson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Garrett Mork, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Leading Westwood Baptist Academy to victory were James Hawley and Ben Jones. Hawley scored 26 points along with five assists and two steals, while Jones dropped a double-double on 34 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Barker, who scored six points along with two steals.
Bismarck's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Bismarck will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against St. Paul Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against North Pemiscot at 7:30 p.m.
