After a string of seven wins, the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 68-44 defeat at the hands of Anderson. Lafayette Jefferson has not had much luck with Anderson recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Bronchos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alonzo Clawson-smith, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Clawson-smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Angelo Hausmanis, who scored 12 points.
Anderson was led to victory by Javon Warfield and Damien King. Warfield scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while King scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. King continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Lewis, who scored nine points.
Lafayette Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Anderson, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette Jefferson will take on Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marion is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Anderson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hamilton Southeastern at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Hamilton Southeastern is ranked 19th, while Anderson is ranked 26th).
