Basketball Recap: St. John's Christian Academy Comes Up Short

St. John's Christian Academy lost against Calhoun Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers. While St. John's Christian Academy didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Calhoun Academy 18-13 in the first quarter.

Calhoun Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nick Lindsay, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. Lindsay is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for five straight games. Chase Strickland was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points along with eight boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for St. John's Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 8-14. As for Calhoun Academy, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Dorchester Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Calhoun Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Clarendon Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun Academy is facing Clarendon Hall at the right time seeing as Clarendon Hall is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
