The Simla Cubs will face off against the Kiowa Indians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Simla comes in on seven and Kiowa on five.
Simla is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Calhan with a sharp 19-3 victory on Saturday. The Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by eight runs or more this season.

Wyatt Stanko made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Simla's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
In other pitching news, Caston Cox looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, T.J. Eurich and Taylor Kissam did most of the damage at the plate: Eurich went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and four runs, while Kissam went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two hits gave Kissam a new career-high. Ethan Kissam was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Simla kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Kiowa rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 14-9.
Myles Erker was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Erker was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Adler Kreig was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Austin Brogger, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two doubles.
Simla's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Kiowa, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Simla hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Kiowa struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Simla took their victory against Kiowa in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cubs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
