After soaring to 69 points the game before, the Purchase Line Red Dragons were a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They were dealt a 60-24 loss at the hands of West Shamokin. Purchase Line lost against West Shamokin in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-42 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Purchase Line lost, one person who can't be blamed is Quentin Brooks. Despite the final result, he scored eight points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Purchase Line struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Purchase Line bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Shamokin, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Purchase Line will be playing at home against Homer-Center at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Homer-Center knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Purchase Line likes a good challenge. As for West Shamokin, they will head out on the road to face off against Penns Manor at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
