Valley Christian hasn't had much luck against Yuma Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trojans will square off against the Shamrocks at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Yuma Catholic will be up against a hot Valley Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. Everything went the Trojans' way against Coolidge on Thursday as they made off with a 15-1 win.

Makay Fraley was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Corinne Rodgers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Valley Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, while Yuma Catholic put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Odyssey Institute. The Shamrocks blew past the Minotaur 17-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Shamrocks, who have now won five games in a row.
Not much got past Cherish Trujillo, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Odyssey Institute off the board. Trujillo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Autumn Moffatt was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mailyn Milan, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Valley Christian pushed their record up to 20-2-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Yuma Catholic, their record is now 19-4.
Both Valley Christian and Yuma Catholic just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Yuma Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Valley Christian took their win against Yuma Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
