After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Beal City, Merrill was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Coleman Comets with a sharp 46-24 win. The Vandals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Coleman's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emily VanSickle, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 15 points and seven rebounds, and Autumn Sapp, who posted no points and four steals.

Merrill pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Coleman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merrill will head out to square off against Sacred Heart Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coleman, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Farwell at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Coleman is facing Farwell at the right time seeing as Farwell is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
