Palmyra-Macedon is 9-1 against Geneva since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Palmyra-Macedon came out on top against Penn Yan Academy on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Mustangs. Considering the Red Raiders have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Traster made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Noah DaPolito and Trey Porpora did most of the damage at the plate: DaPolito went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Porpora went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Porpora has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joel Redmond, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Palmyra-Macedon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Geneva got the win against Newark on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Geneva let Cayden Urbano and Angel Lopez Jr run wild. Urbano went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Lopez Jr got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Alex Dorrington was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Geneva now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Palmyra-Macedon, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Palmyra-Macedon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Geneva struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Palmyra-Macedon's way against Geneva when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Palmyra-Macedon made off with a 14-1 win. Will the Red Raiders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
