The Villa Park Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Millikan Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Villa Park took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 57-6 win over Brea Olinda. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Villa Park just coasted through the last quarter.
Nate Lewis had an outrageously good game as he threw for 414 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 17.3 yards per attempt. Dominic Ancich also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Millikan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cabrillo 36-7 at home. With Millikan ahead 30-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
It was another big night for Jp Mialovski, who threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Samson Khan, who gained 88 total yards and a touchdown.
Villa Park's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. As for Millikan, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season.
