Newport got their first taste of in-conference action on Monday and they started things off strong. They put the hurt on the Bellevue Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Newport's win ended a nine-match drought at home and bumped them up to 5-22. As for Bellevue, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Newport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Highlands on the 21st. Bellevue does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
