It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Warwick had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 35-13 margin over the Woonsocket Villa Novans. The result was nothing new for the Wizards, who have now won five matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

West Warwick's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Luke Gallo, Delvin Polanco, and Brody Meschino, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The victory was the fourth in a row for West Warwick, bringing their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.8 points on average over those games. As for Woonsocket, they moved to 5-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

West Warwick and Woonsocket are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wizards will square off against Westerly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woonsocket, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cumberland at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
