With a playoff game on the line, the Dallas Mountaineers rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crusaders and snuck past 26-23. The victory was just business as usual for Dallas, who after 15 games remain undefeated this season.
Dallas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Zapoticky out in front who threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the defeat, Bishop McDevitt saw an underclassman step up: Nazir Jones-davis rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
Dallas' win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.64 points. As for Bishop McDevitt, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-1.
Dallas will face off against Aliquippa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aliquippa is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Bishop McDevitt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
