Softball Recap: Moriarty Has No Trouble Against Taos

Moriarty never let their opponents score on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Taos Tigers. Considering the Pintos have won 12 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sienna Rios was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Shae Rios, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Sienna wasn't the only one making solid contact: Moriarty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taos only managed two hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Moriarty and bumps their season record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Taos, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Moriarty will be playing at home against Los Alamos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Pintos surely won't give up without a fight. As for Taos, they will head out on the road to challenge Capital at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
