The Concord Bears will square off against the Miramonte Matadors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Concord took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Campolindo as they made off with a 16-6 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Aislynn Newlin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Concord let Shay Caban and Danielah Breaux run wild. Caban got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Breaux got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Caban a new career-high. Aaleah Hunt was another key player, earning one RBI and three runs.
Concord was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Miramonte ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Berean Christian 13-12. The win was nothing new for the Matadors as they're now sitting on three straight.
Abby Warren made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over eight innings while giving up six earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Warren was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Gianna Granzella and Lucy Daoust did most of the damage at the plate: Granzella went 2-for-6 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Daoust got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Julia Quinn-Ferguson, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
Miramonte's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Concord, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Concord has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Miramonte struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Concord couldn't quite finish off Miramonte in their previous matchup back in April and fell 4-2. Will the Bears have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
