After losing to the Polk County Wildcats the last time they met, the Sweetwater Wildcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Sweetwater snuck past Polk County with a 52-46 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sweetwater.
Sweetwater was led to victory by Hunter Daffron and Chris Alford. Daffron scored 19 points along with five rebounds, while Alford scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Alford has scored at least 25% of Sweetwater's points.
Sweetwater's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Polk County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Sweetwater will head out on the road to face off against McMinn Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in McMinn Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Polk County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Meigs County at 6:00 p.m. Meigs County is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
