Volleyball Recap: Wethersfield Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

After losing to Elmwood the last time they met, Wethersfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Flying Geese walked away with a 2-0 win over the Trojans on Thursday.

While Wethersfield might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Elmwood scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19.

Wethersfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. As for Elmwood, their loss dropped their record down to 22-11.

Wethersfield and Elmwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Flying Geese will face off against DePue at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (183 vs. 734). Meanwhile, Elmwood (ranked 259th) will meet Abingdon/Avon (ranked 653rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
