Chris Bratica made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Bratica was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ian McKaughan, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Oliver Lareau was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Ashland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hopkinton only managed six.
