The Spring Valley Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 52-37 to Faith Lutheran. Spring Valley has struggled against the Crusaders recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Spring Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jada Green, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charolette Delisle, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Spring Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Lutheran only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Faith Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Kloe Abdalla, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abdalla has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emma Herpin, who scored six points along with five blocks.
Spring Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Faith Lutheran, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-10.
Spring Valley will head out on the road to face off against the Gaels at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Gorman will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive. Faith Lutheran will take on the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Clark has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
