Softball Recap: Lincoln Has No Trouble Against Adrian

Lincoln never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Adrian Maples 13-0. The Railsplitters might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 13 runs or more this season.

Savanna Kane made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Ava Greene was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. McKaylie Kern was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Adrian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will venture away from home to take on Huron at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Adrian, they will head out to face off against Morenci at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
