After flying high against the West Cowboys last Tuesday, the Marion-Franklin Red Devils came back down to earth. Marion-Franklin took a serious blow against South on Friday, falling 69-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Marion-Franklin has suffered against South since January 31, 2017.
South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabby Grimes, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was J'Khyla Foster, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five assists.
Marion-Franklin has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for South, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Marion-Franklin will head out on the road to square off against Fairfield Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Fairfield Christian Academy's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Marion-Franklin has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. South will take on Columbus International at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Columbus International focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
