The Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 75-67 win over Whitehall-Yearling. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Reggie Bagley and Damien Harris certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Bagley scored 29 points, while Harris scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamir Russell, who scored 6 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Whitehall-Yearling, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Fairless at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Granville at 7:00 p.m.
