Baseball Recap: Lutheran Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Lutheran barely beat Oakland Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 9-2 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Bobby Haworth was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Haworth was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine contests.

In other batting news, Lutheran let Gibson Stockman and Randi Vexler run wild. Stockman went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Vexler went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Vexler has posted since back in May of 2025.

Lutheran kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland Christian only managed five.

The win (which was Lutheran's seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Oakland Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will welcome Hackett Catholic Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oakland Christian, they will be playing at home against Plymouth Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
