Even though the Niceville Eagles scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Crestview Bulldogs still came out on top. Crestview came out on top in a nail-biter against Niceville and snuck past 58-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Crestview.
Crestview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makhi Jones led the charge by scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Jones' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Klauser, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Niceville still got an impressive performance from Anwar Conley, who scored 15 points. Fred Libby was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Crestview now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Niceville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Crestview will be playing in front of their home fans against Pace at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Crestview is ranked 272nd). As for Niceville, they will head out on the road to face off against Tate at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Tate's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
